Dine With Me in Florence on Eve #3
It’s my third evening in Florence, I’m all dressed up and definitely have somewhere to go!
WARNING: The following pictures are rated R (for ravenous!) – which is exactly how I felt by the time we arrived at L’Acqua Cheta Ristorante for dinner!

There just happened to be a beautiful couple in front of me entering the restaurant at the same time I was. Got any guesses who they might be?
We were seated at a very nice table.

The interior design of the restaurant was quite elegant. Notice the blurry Server speedily heading our way. I'm hoping Italian servers have been trained to recognize American tourists. How so? Well, we're an easy target due to the starving look on our faces. You see, Americans typically eat dinner around 6 pm. And Italians typically begin at around 9 pm. I may have a Roman nose, but my stomach is still American at this point!
A quick look at our table setting.
Krosbie and I asked Paolo to order wine and food for us, and I am so elated that he did.

And finished with an indescribably delicious Pasta with Crab, Lobster and Shrimp. It was enough for 5 people. And can you believe that the entire platter was emptied? Oh that's because we ended up having 5 people eating at our table - Krosbie, Paolo, Rich, Rich and Rich!
Needless to say, I was somewhat full. We did order dessert, 1 for the 3 of us, but I forgot to take a picture. However, I did order some local after dinner drink. Um, I can’t really say what it was because after all the wine we had, things got a little fun and fuzzy.

I'm sure it was good. As far as I can remember. I probably should have someone look at my camera. I'm noticing it makes blurry pictures at the end of the night. Probably camera-lag from the flight.
So, my friends, tomorrow I leave Krosbie and Paolo to venture off BY MYSELF ON A TRAIN (yikes) touring other cities in Italy. My desire is to experience the back roads and see the nuances of this marvelous Italian culture.
My next stop will be Siena, which is south of Florence. Together you and I will learn how to ride a train without speaking Italian (seems much scarier than a bus), make sure we get off at the right city, and find my Hotel. Are you ready? Join me (I’m sure I’ll need your help).

It is virtually impossible to travel in Italy without encountering something historic – Italy has the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites on the planet, and there are plenty of things that UNESCO doesn’t trouble listing that are in all likelihood more ancient than anything you’ve encountered before. This is a land with history.
